Metal Roofing Named Top 10 Product for 2010

Green Living Home Guide recently released its list of 10 products to put in your home in 2010. Metal roofing made the list of high-performance products that "will help homeowners lower their energy bills, but will also last longer and perform better than conventional choices."

Take Advantage of Updated Energy Tax Credits with KlassicKolors

As a result of the new stimulus package, homeowners who make energy-efficient updates to their homes may be eligible for a tax credit up to 30% of material costs, up to $1,500. The new credit extends to a variety of energy-efficient home updates, including ENERGY STAR® qualified metal roofing products installed between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. To receive the credit, homeowners must fill out IRS Form 5695 (Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit) when filing taxes for 2009 or 2010. Homeowners should obtain a copy of the qualifying product's ENERGY STAR certification from the manufacturer, installer or retailer. Certifications do not have to be submitted to the IRS, but should be kept on file.

The episode, titled "A New Porch and New Colors Bring Zing to a Home's Exterior," will focus on the transformation of the Van Wagener family's 1950's Bethesda, MD residence.
